Home Again, Home Again (Jiggedy Jig)

I have been up for approximately 26 hours because I cannot sleep on airplanes.

I smell like airport.

I have static-head from sleeping against an airplane seat and a paper covered pillow. (I know, I shouldn't have, so let's not even go there.)

My house smells like dog.

There is a dent in the wall where Boo rocked Pea's glider rocking chair a *titch* too hard. I'll be calling the painter/plasterer in the morning, which sucks. (They "forgot" to tell Daddy that they did it yesterday.)

There is no food in the house.

My kids have greasy looking/slippery feeling heads from the new lice treatment the Hubs tried on them while I was gone. There was yet another outbreak at school.

And my darling kids, after totally loving on me at school when I surprised them by picking them up BEFORE after-school club, well, totally melted down and punished me for deserting them by being hellions all afternoon.

The puppy, on the other hand, was so happy to see me, she peed on my feet. All afternoon.

I've spent most of the remains of the day doubled over, disinfectant and floor cleaner in hand, yelling at the puppy.

I'm such a bitch.

A tired, hungry bitch.

On the upside, the laundry is all caught up, my kids have been de-loused, and I get to sleep in my own bed tonight. Well done, Hubs.

Its good to be home.

BFF

My children are so very, very lucky.

They had lovely friends in the US, and moving here, have found equally lovely friends.

What is even more special is how, even after being gone for a year, at 4 and 6, they've managed to not lose that bond with their friends back home.

I mean, seriously - Pea met E. when she was only two. She is her bestest friend in the world "at home".
When they caught up in April, E. was a little shy at first because "she knew Pea would be leaving and she  would be sad and miss her, even though she was happy to see her". (How flippin' cute is that?)

This trip, as we drove away, E sobbed and sobbed, saying "Pea is so, so special". It broke my heart to have to leave that day.

Boo, being Boo, settled right in with the twins like he hadn't ever left (with the exception of the accent, which was cause for giggles). They played hard, wrestled, ran around, and played some more. He ended up staying for dinner because no one was ready to part - so Kim, bless you, because I know you were headed out on vacation the next day, and letting him stay made his week. He misses those boys.

And on the flight back, as they were naming all the people they were missing already, they added in their friends here - they were ready to see them as much as they already missed the people they left behind.
