True to her perfectionist streak, lately Pea has been focused on "the perfect kiss".
Lips puckered, the kissers top and bottom lips much match up to the kissee's top and bottom lips exactly so. Off a bit, she gets dismissive.
"That wasn't pewr-fect".
Sometimes, you might get a second chance. Most times, she turns away in frustration, and growls.
Last night, I was pleasantly surprised.
No, the kiss wasn't perfect (as trying to get oneself angled appropriately over her bedrail, with her sitting up but not tilting her head, at all, is a feat of flexibility that his back hasn't seen a number of years.)
I waited for the inevitable comment....
"Mommy, that kiss wasn't perfect. But I'm happy with it."
Ok, I'm off to simper now. That just melted my hard mean-mommy heart.
